Join a Military Explorer Post ('Unit') Today!
To our Young Adults who are interested in a potential Military Career, joining a Unit starts with attending a 'UNIT ORIENTATION' with at least one of your parent(s) or guardian(s). These Unit Orientations last and hour to hour and a half and are held through out the year or sometimes just prior to a OTF (Officer Training Flight) or BMT (Basic Military Training) class start-up. It is generally best to join at the start of your Fall or January HS Semesters to get the full benefit of a training year. Keep in mind this is a year-round after-school program. You will also receive the details of our training program, get a hands-on feel of a training day, our annual training and social activities, meet and talk with our Senior Cadets and Leaders, and visualize the kind of training, uniforms, and equipment you will recieve .
Your parent(s) or guardian(s) will have a chance to meet with the Adult leaders/advisors of your Military Explorer Unit, and will be filled-in on the details that all parents need to know, such as transport, training days/times, costs, involvement, and most importantly, how it will benefit you as you finish up your high school years. You will also have a feel for what the environment is like in a Military Unit. You will learn Leadership skills, knowledge of our military, it's organizations, weapon systems, and threats that our country faces today. But most importantly, you will see and understand how a potential job or career in the military will benefit you, and the best avenues to take to get there.
